KM TO PARTICIPATE IN WBEE DICE RUN - 08.28.09

Just back from the 2nd Annual Halfway to Hazard Charity Trail Ride, which raised over $200,000 for the Buckhorn Children's and Family Center, Broken Bow/Holeshot Records artist Krista Marie heads to her home state of New York to participate in the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester Dice Run on Sunday, August 30, 2009.
"My father passed away from colon cancer when I was 14, so I know how all cancers -- and especially breast cancer - can effect our lives and the lives of our loved ones," said Krista. "I am both honored and happy to be a part of raising awareness for this terrible disease. I was born & raised in upstate New York, so I am also glad to give back in any way that I can to the community. Thanks again to Cycle Stop Harley-Davidson for setting me up with a motorcycle for the ride!"
The "run" is a scenic 90-mile motorcycle ride that begins at Cycle Stop Harley-Davidson in Rochester down, winds down to the Southern Tier and ends up at the Roost Country Showcase in Henrietta, NY. An avid biker, Krista has connected with Harley-Davidson motorcycles and Screamin' Eagle racing to make promotional appearances at H-D dealerships, NHRA events and will participate in charity rides across the country on behalf of the storied brand and to support Harley-Davidson's effort to encourage women to ride.

"When I mentioned the run to Krista a few months ago, she immediately said 'book the date,'" said WBEE radio's Brian Chase, who is also one of the organizers of the event. I have witnessed the toll breast cancer takes on many people around me, including my own mother, friends, and my boss at the radio station lost his wife to it last year."
Following the event, Krista will spend a few days with friends and family in the Rochester area before hitting the radio and concert trail hot and heavy again to promote "Tomboy."
